About ISCA - Independent Safety Consultants Association
The Independent Safety Consultants Association (ISCA) is a professional body consisting of health and safety consultants practising at the highest level. The Association is operated and managed by its members and is a not for profit organisation. The Association's operating costs are met exclusively by membership fees.
Designed to raise standards of professional practice in support of better health and safety performance, the Association provides a database of member organisations and of the services they provide.
Our aim is provide unrivalled quality advice, support and services to all - whether an individual or corporate entity.
OUR HISTORY
Formed in 1984, ISCA has a long history in providing proportionate safety support services via our members. We encompass the entire profession of health and safety consultants and advisers with a membership touching on all areas of the UK economy including small and large organisations across the private, public and voluntary sectors.
ISCA, as a representative organisation, sets and maintains standards for the profession. The Association's continuing vision is to become the leading independent body on occupational health and safety matters in the UK, representing the profession by contact with UK and EU government departments, the Health and Safety Executive and all other relevant bodies. Its membership ranges from one-person consultants to some of the largest suppliers. By being "independent" ISCA members are not "tied in" to the large financial, insurance or other institutions.
WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT
ISCA members are dedicated to providing professional health and safety services of the highest standard throughout the United Kingdom.
Professional conduct consistent with the Association's high standards must be maintained at all times and members agree to submit themselves to scrutiny by the Association in all aspects of their professional conduct.
Member organisations are required to have been established as health and safety consultants for a minimum of three years and employ a proportionate number of full-time members of staff who can demonstrate the requisite standard of competence gained over many years practising as a consultant.
ISCA is endorsed on the HSE website as an organisation where specialist information and advice can be obtained. The Association is highly regarded by all of the Regulatory bodies and quite often your inquiries to Regulators in relation to health and safety issues will result in a referral to ISCA.
