1 Application for Membership
1.1 All applicants for membership shall be in writing and shall include an undertaking that the applicant will, if elected, abide by and accept the terms of these Rules and the Constitution of the Association.
1.2 Applicants may be required to give a presentation to the Committee on their company's activities prior to acceptance for membership and provide relevant information on their professional staff to ensure compliance with the professional membership requirements.
1.3 The Committee (or any sub-committee or independent assessor delegated or engaged for the purpose) will carry out an assessment of the applicant's suitability for membership by reference to operational and quality standards set from time to time by the Committee.
1.4 The decision of the Committee shall be final in all matters relating to membership applications.
1.5 The Committee reserves the right to decline membership without giving any reason.

2 Eligibility
2.1 Applicants must demonstrate that they fulfil, and members must continue to fulfil, the following eligibility requirements:
Established as a health and safety consultancy for a minimum period of three years.

Employ at least three full-time members of staff who are corporate members of IOSH, Registered Safety Practitioners or have a similar equivalent qualification, as deemed suitable by the Committee. Associate Membership is available for organisations with one or two staff who are so qualified.

Have adequate and suitable support services available to manage their organisation effectively.

Have professional indemnity insurance:
full members 500,000
associate members 100,000 -
Are capable of undertaking client work throughout the UK.

Maintain professional conduct consistent with the Association's standards.
- Willingness to submit themselves for scrutiny by the Committee where any question of unprofessional conduct may arise.
2.2 The Committee may from time to time add to or change the eligibility requirements in rule 2.1.
3 Subscriptions
3.1 The annual subscription shall be such sum as the Association from time to time in general meeting may decide. There may be different levels of membership with different subscriptions payable.
3.2 All subscriptions shall be payable annually within twenty-eight days of the Annual General Meeting each year. A demand for subscriptions will be issued by the Treasurer.
3.3 The Committee may raise a special levy not exceeding 100% of each member's subscription in any one year for any extraordinary purpose.
4 Register of Members
4.1 The Association shall keep a register of members containing such information as may be required by the Committee.
4.2 Members shall inform the Association of any material changes in their organisations or their operation
5 Resignation, Exclusion and Reinstatement, etc
5.1 A member may resign his membership in writing and such resignation shall take effect at the next meeting of the Committee.
5.2 Any member may be excluded from the Association by resolution of two-thirds of the members present and voting in general meeting.
5.3 Any member may be excluded from the Association if they cease to be eligible for membership as referred to in these Rules.
5.4 Membership shall also cease:
5.4.1 If a member being a corporate body or limited company be dissolved or go into liquidation.
5.4.2 If a member becomes bankrupt.
5.4.3 If the member's annual subscription be in arrears for three months. (Such a member may be reinstated at the Committee's discretion on payment or outstanding dues).
5.5 The decision of the Committee in deciding any issue relating to membership and eligibility shall be final.
5.6 If for any reason, a member shall cease to be a member, the annual subscription for the year in which membership ceases shall remain due in full and they shall forfeit all interest in the funds.
6 Advice
Any advice given to members, by or on behalf of the Association, its members or any employee or representative thereof is given on the understanding that, whilst such advice is given in good faith, the Association, its members and their employees and representatives cannot accept any responsibility for errors or omissions therein of whatsoever nature and howsoever arising.
7 Commercial Rules
No Officer or Member of the Association shall by position or contact with the Secretary seek to or gain advanced information about commercial enquiries to ISCA. All Members may pursue commercial enquiries on receipt by normal notification from the Secretary.
8 General
8.1 Words and phrases in these Rules shall have the meaning given to them by the Constitution.
8.2 In the case of any conflict between these Rules and the Constitution, the Constitution shall have precedence.
